GERMANY: Police remove Occupy Frankfurt protesters
August 7, 2012 § 1 Comment

Occupy Sydney stand in solidarity with Occupy Frankfurt as their ten month long Occupation is removed by Police. Claims that “activists have left and homeless have taken over” are a standard Police ruse to disinform the public by portraying activists as something else. Perhaps their are among Police tiers of recognition of activists and levels of activism. Our information from Occupy Frankfurt by phone is that there is a notable homeless presence but the Occupation is by no means exclusively homeless people. There are also activists from Student , Trades and Workers movements onsite.
As with other occupations, there are also numerous organisations which tried to co-opt Occupy Frankfurt whose high profile media spokespeople basked in the sunshine of Occupy publicity but had little to do with maintaining a physical occupation.
GERMANY
Police remove Occupy Frankfurt protesters
After ten months of demonstrations, the Occupy Frankfurt protest against anti-capitalism is being shut down. It spells the end for the longest continuous protest of its kind in Europe.
Police in the German city of Frankfurt have started to clear the campsite of that city’s Occupy movement, next to the European Central Bank headquarters.
